ClippaNet probably has the most extensive range of semi-automatic net clipping machinery available for hire in the UK. These machines are suitable for a wide variety of applications using various net types and sizes. Typical applications include packing citrus fruit, onions, garlic, courgettes, toiletries, chocolates, cheese, meat, toys, flexible tubes, rolls of plastic material, promotional items; in fact, most items which could possibly be packed in net. With minimum hire periods from only one week, hire of machinery for producing trial packs, short-term annual requirements or just for additional seasonal capacity offers the benefit of fulfilling a packaging requirement whilst avoiding large capital expenditure for “one off” or short-term requirements. Alternatively, hiring also enables hirers to enjoy fixed-cost net packaging for long-term or permanent applications where the machines are subject to continual use.

The FT12 machines can be manually-operated using a foot pedal or supplied for pneumatic operation. These machines apply a clip from a pre-loaded magazine to each end of the pack and are available with net tubes and hoppers of 100mm and 140mm diameter.

The faster electrically-operated net clipping machines require a 240v single phase power supply and a dry operating environment. These are supplied as standard with either 100mm diameter net tubes for small products and in-line packs or with 150mm diameter net tubes for larger items and jumble packs. Special tubes and configurations can be engineered for non-standard products or packs. The clips which seal the net at both ends are formed from two spools of wire located in the machine and fed automatically into the clipping head. The single action of the operator, gathering the net with the products inside and introducing it into the clipping head, signals the machine to operate and apply two clips, simultaneously cutting the net between them.

For applications where it is necessary to attach a label to the pack, the electrically-operated machines are supplied with a wineglass label applicator for automatic feeding of pre-printed labels. ClippaNet can also offer for hire wineglass label printers for use in conjunction with the semi-automatic clipping machines. Ribbon feed attachments allow plain or printed promotional ribbons to be secured by the clips if required.
